Mark, 9: 14-15

Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?” And Jesus said to them, “Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.

What touched my Soul

Personally I’m not a big fan of food fasting. My Fridays during Lent are more about reducing the quantity of food than complete fast.

But what I think is relevant is not only the food Fasting.

important is to take fast to all other aspects of our life.

fast on sin. fast on bad thoughts. Fast of actions that we know will hurt our brothers and sisters.

at the end fast is all about using this preparation period to stop doing things that hurt God and block us to receive with clean heart the mistery of the cross.

Today lets ask God to help us live this Lent with attention to his voice. Ask Him to guide us through our fasting period and support our journey through this period of preparation to Easter.
