Matthew 7:15-20

15"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? 17So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit. 18A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus you will know them by their fruits.

What touched my Soul

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves“

UAU!

It’s amazing how Jesus present us here such a valuable warning.

What do you perceive are the false prophets of today?

Maybe in Jesus time those could be literally false prophets, Or false gods, or priests, or teachers, or alchemists.

And today? What do you think?

Do you want to spend a couple of minutes thinking about this?

For me all that drives us away for Jesus, his teachings, the love for our brothers and sisters. All that distract us from the love for our neighbours.

For me, one way or another I can identify some wolves in our days...

the false prophet of money drive us to the desire have possessions, more that we really need or ever will use.

the false prophet of pleasure that drive us to want to experience all kind of sensations at any cost.

the false prophet of death, that lead us to accept as normal certain culture of death in our societies.

As Christians we should be aware of what Jesus tell us in this gospel and be strong over the false prophets and stand against them. Stand against what they represent and all the harm they bring to our lives under the cover of sheep.

Praise be to God.
