Luke 5: 27-32

27After this he went out, and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the tax office; and he said to him, "Follow me." 28And he left everything, and rose and followed him. 29And Levi made him a great feast in his house; and there was a large company of tax collectors and others sitting at table with them. 30And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?" 31And Jesus answered them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; 32I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

What touched my Soul

This is great news for us, isn’t it? Jesus saying He came for the sinners.

“ I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance”.

We are sinners and Jesus come to save us, show us that its possible to live a good lifeand have a place in His Kingdom if we believe in Him and repent from our faults.

The example Christ gives us in this Luke reading are tax collectors. If we think tax collectors were seen as ‘unclean’ and highest sinners, and despite that they were envited by our Lord to His table, we may learn from it a sign of our sins are not a show stopers for our soul, Jesus will always be there to forgive us in His infinite generosity and mercy.

Today we thank our Lord for His invite. The same invite He did to Levi, to follow Him.

Let us beg for corage to leave our old lifes and say “yes” like Levi did. Leave all behind and take the radical step of follow Him and take part of His table.
