Daily Word - May, 2nd 2019

John 3:31-36

31He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth belongs to the earth, and of the earth he speaks; he who comes from heaven is above all. 32He bears witness to what he has seen and heard, yet no one receives his testimony; 33he who receives his testimony sets his seal to this, that God is true. 34For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for it is not by measure that he gives the Spirit; 35the Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand. 36He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him

What touched my Soul

“He who believes in the Son has eternal life; ”

if we believe we will have eternal life.

if we believe (in Jesus) we will have eternal life

Lord I believe help my unbelief

Sometimes I think if my good actions will take me to heaven.

if I folllow Jesus teachings will take me to be part of His table.

If we believe in Jesus we should follow His teachings and obviously do good actions, although we find many times in the Gospel that to be saved we just need to believe in Him.

Theologians don't have a single view over this matter. Although today in this reading the word of the Lord is clear:

”He who believes in the Son has eternal life“
